letter published in the Rye Chronicle from January 1943
Dear Sirs: Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the card with its Christmas wish. If more people would do such kind things it would help keep the morale high with the rest of my comrades. It means so much to get an encouraging word from the people back over there. I am still some where out of America. Let me thank you people of Rye and may God bless you. Say a prayer for me. From one of your soldiers.
Sincerely,
Pvt. ANTHONY ANGELETTA
